It was a delight to have a Monday engagement this week at Pontyclun RFC.
This invitation came out of the blue from the Llantrisant Probus Club and the event was a full house for them.
My delivery was a 10.15am and it is a much more difficult task first thing in the morning than ever it is when you have a room full of people who have had a few drinks etc and it sure focuses the mind.
I recognised one or two faces from previous encounters and within a few minutes of my opening remarks they were all laughing and smiling, particularly as the humour was at my own expense.
Speeches like these are about entertainment and enjoying time with friends. My contribution is to bring them all together and it certainly worked last Monday.
As usual I received some very kind words from the Chairman and Secretary and the feedback was first class.
On another note I was approached by several people independently at the end of this performance and asked if I could attend and speak to their clubs and organisations so a win/win all round I guess.....................and I noted that dates for a year hence in 2025 are already being agreed.
