It was a great day in Cardiff on Friday where I was fortunate to compere and host a Sports Lunch where I did a Q & A with one of our favourite Welsh rugby legends Tommy David. What a smashing bloke and great company Tommy proved to be, at this fund raiser.

There were lots of funny rugby stories from all aspects of his career. He played for Pontypridd, Llanelli, Wales and the British Lions before moving to rugby league where he again played for Wales.

Tommy was involved in "that try" where Gareth Edwards scores in the corner at the old Arms Park.

He also played for Llanelli when they beat the All Blacks 9-3 in 1973 before drinking the pubs dry as per Max Boyce's humorous song.

The other speaker was the excellent veteran broadcaster Huw Llewellyn Davies (President, Pentyrch RFC) who was extremely entertaining.

Also on the table was the Right Honourable Dr. Kim Howells MP who was, as always, great company.

It's good to be back. I've got a few more things lined up over the next few months and hopefully some sort of normality will resume.

Long may it continue.
